STYLE THAT: China and Bar Cabinets Edition

Styling: The art of arranging ordinary and unique items alike to tell a story of uniformity, organization, decorative taste within a beautiful design.

Styling - you can love it or hate it. Maybe it makes you hyperventilate thinking about having to arrange vases or books on a nightstand or what to put on a mantel... well TCI is about to embark on a series throughout 2017 about styling each area of your home.

Today we start with a fav ... Bar and China Cabinets

1. Simplicity Rules:
In this unique bar built-in, we chose to use all white glass and ceramic pieces to create a uniform look. By only adding a few pieces to each glass shelf, it's easy on the eye, beautiful on the shelf and all in all simple to carry out

2. Materials and Finishes play into styling:
As we designed this bar, the beautiful caramel color we chose for the cabinets played into the copper accessories we used throughout.

3. Stand alone bar carts can be just as fun:
A couple glasses, a simple bottle and one fun accessory can turn it into a WOW

4. Display person collections:
These types of cabinets are perfect places for collections. It comes down to the arrangement of these items to make them look spot on. Group like items .. create symmetry with colors and items...add in a simple accessory to break up lots of like items

5. The SHOWSTOPPER:
A wine room for all. What a beautiful space to display a collection and hobby of this homeowner. We created space for display, a "wow factor" of a backlit beauty, and functional storage all in one!

Style that .... and get to work!

Wine Rooms and Cabinets .. and a First Hand Experience!

Happy Summer!
Recently, we have been working on several custom wine rooms and sleek bar areas for our build to suit projects, so my trip to Napa Valley couldn't have come at a better time!
(Great excuse to travel for work inspiration:)

First stop was the home of one of my favorite wines, Silver Oak, and they hit a home run for their bottle storage.  I love gathering first hand research and sipping along the way;).

The cave tour at Del Dotto was a treat as well since we tasted straight out of the barrels.
If you haven't tried Alpha Omega or visited
the winery, make it a must! It was definitely
a pleasant surprise!

A Client Project - Custom Wine Room and Bar!

This custom wine room and bar in our lovely client's home has come to life with the concepts and visions from both our team and client!

From this snippet of their blueprint, you can see how the wine room and bar area serves as a connector between the Great Room and Study

We started from several gorgeous Wine Room concepts to get our wheels turning.

We loved the idea of using storefront glass to add a modern touch and showcase the collection.

From this point, we do what we do best at
TCI...we provide great visuals for our clients
in order for them to see the space created
before it is built.

We took the concept of showcasing three
large specialty bottles and added the client's idea of a large lazy susan to the center... and it came to life.

WINE ROOM:

For the Bar area, we loved this streamlined look that provided a modern yet organized appearance.

BAR AREA:
Thinking outside the box with the flip
cabinet doors,
 yet providing adequate storage for
Scotch and glassware.

We can't wait to see this space complete!!
Stay tuned for more ... ;)

Client Project Reveal: Colorful, Modern Game Room

This is why I do what I do!!!!

A successful client project is measured by a response like the one above...
(and look at me... just as happy as the homeowner:)

Courtney and I dug way deep in the creativity bucket
(as well as the paint bucket) to design this multifunctional,
colorful gameroom for an active family.

BEFORE:

For the remodel portion of this job, TCI incorporated a custom craft area,
broke into the wall to find unused space for a bar and redesigned the entertainment unit.

We added drop pendants over work station and sleek sconces to the bar,
as well as task lighting using unique lamps.

The Vanguard custom barstools were a hit and are comfy to boot!

Solution to a design dilemma:
Behind the large canvas art piece is a door to the attic-
GONE!
Art is on installed on L brackets for easy on and easy off.

(Custom touch, the artist incorporated their last name initial
G in the top corner and IV for number of family members-
we all love it)

Custom painted nesting tables by CTH Sherrill and storage ottoman with
faux leather on the top for durability- also by Vanguard

Ahhh, the paint can wall decor! Check the blog on Monday
for the tutorial on how we pulled this one off!!!

Last but not least, our perfect mascot Izzy settled on our perfect Surya rug-
