A Bench and Table all in one: The Couef!

To: Traci's Cell Phone
From: Candice the Client

Courtney and I couldn't help laughing at our client's text
message...she thought it was funny too... probably
because she knew that her BBQ sauce garnished ottoman
getting reupholstered, but hopefully her son is done
finger painting on furniture!

I teased her that we are going to add permanent
plastic to all her new furniture on the way,
and if she doesn't go for that...
Fiberseal to the rescue!

90% of the time, we specify a luxurious type vinyl for
cocktail ottoman tops when we are designing with
little ones in mind. It's indestructible.

Speaking of ottomans- take a look at one of our
new lines found in High Point...

I dig this for the practicality and it's "cuteness"

Check it out.. it has a hidden pull out table-
PERFECT for a cocktail beverage to sit.

From benches and ottomans...

To bar stools and counter stools
(my fav)....

To tables... great for space concerns and serving-

Be the first to add a Couef to your room!

J Lo and Moi: Separated at birth?

Your new American Idol judge has great talent... and great taste as well!

Jennifer Lopez's newly furnished California home is sophisticated and stylish-
and caught my eye instantly.

I think I could move right in-

This is probably my favorite pic of the bunch.

I LOVE:

*the detail on the glass cabinet fronts
*the chandelier
*the tufted, nailhead chairs
*the painted finish on the buffet
*the black and white contrast on the table

Veranda posted this photo shoot and it doesn't disappoint-

J Lo hired Michelle Workman, a designer to the stars, to complete the project in just 10 weeks.
Michelle mentioned that Jennifer knows what she likes and makes decisions fast... hmmmm.

They added a bit more of a masculine look for Marc in the family room:)

When designing with a soft color palette, it makes it even more important to add great textures.
Since the colors are not making the statement.... the feel of the room can take over.
They used velvets, leather and silks to bring in a nice feel-

Lots of Global Views items in this room... love it!

Lighting is key! Check out this fixture and I love the combo of chairs. Simple and elegant... but it does not give the feel of over the top- which I'm sure you'd feel anyway walking into her digs.

Lucite legs with a leather tufted top on the bench- ahhhh...., my favorite type headboard- classic linen with simple nailhead and a FUN light fixture!

p.s. With the boxed pleat valance and full panels, it looks like the draperies may be operable. Line with blackout and sleep everyday until noon!

Check out this beauty from 1st Dibs... you can have one too!

Back to the bedroom...Traci's pick:
Herrringbone pattern inside the fireplace.
It's all about the details!

More lucite and wallpaper...yes!

The house has a bit of an art deco feel... a bit of forties... and a lot of Serene Glamour!

So, is it just me or do you have a favorite element in this house as well?

Good luck, J Lo... it's a tough crowd!

Until next time,

Bringing in the "X" Factor!

Who doesn't want a little "X" Factor in their homes?  I have had these particular style benches lurking in my "I need to put these in a project" file for quite some time now and here it is!

Custom Kasmir fabric on Sam Moore bench

We put two in the foyer of the Cheetah Couple's home and they look fabulous!  I call them the "X" factor bench due to the classic base and the incredible versatility of this piece of furniture!

Had to snap this beauty while at the Jonathan Adler store

Here it is in one of his projects... love them with the zebra rug!

Wow! Check out this beauty from Wisteria

So functional! Coffee table ottomans-

We all need somewhere to throw our clothes!

Extra seating is a must-

A little different flavor: a bit bigger, but oh so stylish!

Just a little turquoise which brings me back to the Cheetah Couple who earned this "title" due to their fabulously hip selection of this fabric below:

Let me know if you want to bring some "X" Factor into your home!

Until next time,
