Design Delivered -- Client Project: A Gold Accented Modern Family Room

Have you been thinking that one (or two) spaces in your home just isn't complete, or maybe it needs to be completely redone?

We have a service just for you DIYer's out there!

Check out our most recent Design Delivered Project:

We gather all the information from YOU about your space! The dimensions will allow us to draft the floor plan. This amazing client recently moved into their newly built home and were looking for a perfect plan for their family room.

With only a sofa sectional (beautiful one!) that they had selected previously, we ran with the design.

The client loved gold accents and neutrals ... but weren't afraid of a little pop of color! With a love for purple we started with a gray rug with lavender undertones. This jewel tone project speaks VOLUMES

We don't forget about the "jewelry". Gracing each surface with an object of interest, pop of color, or statement piece makes the project come to life.

And for a REAL difference maker we helped to revamp their fireplace wall. A fireplace is a focal piece of the family room.  The unique paneling pattern and a surround of gold calcutta marble is just what this clean, classic design needed to create it a masterpiece!

It's all in the Architecture - My Visit to Sorority Row

This weekend was Parent's Weekend for Zeta Tau Alpha at University of Texas, so you better believe I was there in a second. Seeing Avery and enjoying the weekend was a highlight... but also the beautiful Zeta sorority house!

The black and white architecture is so bold and beautiful in many ways.
It is classy and never going out of style.

What a gorgeous "home" away from home. My older daughter, Ashley, lived in the house about 9 years ago... and it is still standing:).

After a little research of other sorority houses and hear-say, we picked up on the brand new Phi Mu house at University of Alabama

The new $13 million dollar house is a gorgeous gray and white escape for all these ladies at Alabama.... I mean WOW!

This chandelier used to hang at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City!

The mix of traditional with modern finishes is just right up our alley of design. This makes me want to throw my name in the hat to redo a sorority house... must be where the big bucks are!

They did reuse much of the old furniture from their previous house, and we think it all meshed great together.

Study and hang out rooms are throughout the house, well equipped and designed for lots of use.

So sorority houses MAY be lots of fun, but they also have well designed places as well! I'm sure this was a pretty penny:).

Timothy Oulton hits Close to Home!

The British Invasion has a whole new meaning for me. Not only is it all over the design world,
but my smart, sassy Sissy will be moving to London! As a mom, I cannot be more proud
of her work which allowed her this opportunity, but I will miss her like crazy.

This is Ashley... in a nutshell.

We can all learn something from our kiddos and seizing
every moment is what I'm learning from mine these days,
along with... going for it all!

So as I entered the showroom of Timothy Oulton for an ASID event last week,
I felt a jolt of sadness but also a rush of excitement
as I got a taste of what is in store for Ashley across the Pond.

Inspired by timeless, classic design and artisanship throughout the ages, Oulton succeeds in
creating pieces which combine his love of vintage, his knowledge of antiques and his desire to
create innovative, relevant pieces of luxury furniture for the contemporary consumer.

The Britain inspired store is located at Knox/Henderson and 75
which happens to be the first US showroom

Here's a pic of Courtney and I taking a break
from schmoozing

I will surely be back to visit Timothy and his treasures and will
start planning to visit Ashley and start our adventures.

Looking back on a Colorful Year!

Before looking forward to 2013, I wanted to share one of the highlights of
this year... thanks to these three.

It's a highlight based on the fact that memories were created and the simple
joy I felt by watching my A's have such a great time together.

We road tripped to Austin a few weeks ago, where we participated in a 5k called
where basically you are pelted with paint while you are running.
Why did I agree to do this??? Hmmm...

Feeding of my need of sharing color in everyday life,
this took it to another level!

Doesn't get much better than this!

Add a bit of color to your everyday and you'll be surprised too!

Personally and professionally, it has been a year of growth for
me and I landed on my own two feet!
(Luck or by design?:)

So take a moment to think about what brought happiness to your
year and pump it up for 2013!
