A Way with Words-

Does your home reflect your personality? Does your home have a sense of humor?

I mentioned a while back that one of my goals is to encourage my clients and readers to
include some of "themselves" in their homes...

I didn't think I did a great job of this in my own home... until I looked around-
I certainly have a way with words!

and a few serious thoughts....:)

A great gift  is telling someone how you feel about them
or just brightening their day!

How many times have you run across something and said...
"That reminds me of 'so and so'....."

Me too-

Enter Etsy...

Updated Vintage Accessories: For You?

I'm definitely having a "thing" with this vintage modern look...
not sure what it is, but I want it!  I want to put it in someone's
house...now!  Mine?  Hmmmm.... I'm trying to integrate some pieces
and do seem to be getting away with it.

Friday, I stopped by my favorite art gallery, La Montage, and visited
with sweet Gaylynn and Kelly.

I'm always drawn to the unique gift items they have scattered
among the gorgeous art pieces.

Here are a few:

The Queen and King will demand attention on your favorite buffet piece or counter-

This artist can also create these pieces using your vintage photographs-
way more interesting than just a frame!

These were my favorites- was it the bird? the blue? the jewelry? the cream?... or the finials?

I took a few peeks at the egg plaque on the left... I need it-

To further my fetish, I took a look over at Etsy to see if I could
find more of this look- and I scored!

How easy is this? You can buy all the
pieces for $150!

Why not spruce up your light switch cover?  Wait- $5?

Adored these candlesticks as well-
Yes- $5.00 for the pair

Cruised some new blogs and found this sweet framed

Back to Etsy and saw these crafty burlap tags...

Are you ready for an updated Shabby Chic look in your home?
I'm inspired and ready to provide it for you!

Until next time,

Wraps, Ribs and Rabbits!

I hope all of you had a wonderful Easter...
this was my view on Easter morning:)

Nothing against Kansas City, but not many
 children wait for the arrival
of the Easter Bunny... in the Marriott.

Who plans a Qualifier Volleyball Tournament on Easter Weekend??

Hmmmm....

As much as I love watching my daughter play volleyball, will it ever end?!!!

I've spent more time lately on a bench watching ponytails swing and balls fly...
one more week???

But as luck would have it... an injury occurred during the first game and we ended up like this:(

Mom and Daughter were good sports and stuck it out for the "Black and Yellow"...

So, I put my time to good use-

Eating and Designing

While at a KC favorite-

I skipped over the menu and saw this on the walls of

and...

 and...

Sorry about the terrible Iphone shots but these collages
reminded me of an artist with the gallery, La Montage
that I've used quite a bit for my clients...

If you have a favorite memorabilia collection in a box or even an idea...
we can make it happen and put it on your wall!

I perked up after my visit to Jack's and we rounded
out the weekend with Easter Dinner at Consentino's grocery market
and flew through tornadoes to arrive home at midnight Sunday.

Life is full of experiences:)

Until next time,

Following the Golden Rules

I'm feeling a bit feisty and came across this painting by Priscilla Woolworth...

I think I will hang it in my kitchen-

Have a great day (wink, wink!),

Super Media Rooms for Superbowl Day!

Day 5!!!  Superbowl 2011 in Dallas!

Beautiful weather... 45 and Sunny (however, a bit on the slushy side)

...Not at the new JerryWorld!

For the rest of us Dallasites that will not be headed to the new Dallas Cowboy Stadium,
we will watch the big game in front of our flat screens-
or if we are amongst the lucky ones...
in our media rooms!

Here's a pic of a window treatment we did in a media room in Frisco
(lots of yummy fabric helps absorb the sound)

Now it just needs some art... an original from Steve Taft may be just the ticket.  See the post
about another theatre room we finished in Dallas by clicking here.

If I had an empty room in my house, can't you see this one below fitting in perfectly???

Turquoise and Glam...perfect for watching my Bravo reruns... Rachel Zoe Project,
Jeffrey in Flipping Out and of course, the Real Housewives.

(I'm not so sure how this would sit well with the husband, however)

Here is a bit more casual ceiling, black out shades and over the top ceiling~

Speaking of "over the top"... WOW!

This family took "Man Cave" to a whole new level... it is actually a "Bat Cave"

Watch the Big Game like the Romans would have....

Or how about in just your comfy family room by the fire!

Enjoy the Superbowl and Go Steelers!

Until next time,
